On Thursday 15 March Women in Pregnancy hosted a meeting for professional dancers, pregnant women and health professionals interested in finding out more about the Pilot Project. The three Artistic Directors outlined the vision for Women in Pregnancy and the way that people can engage with the Project.
There are three ways to engage: by participating in the workshops, by contributing to this blog and/or by joining the Professional Reference Group.
We are genuinely committed to collaboration and were overwhelmed with the enthusiastic response we received at the meeting (as well as in the individual meetings we’d had before the 15 March). Twelve women came along to Chapter to find out more including midwives (one of whom is doing a Ph D looking at the experience of pregnant midwives), pregnant women, our camera woman, a visual artist looking at issues around motherhood, dance artists/choreographers and a Community Arts Organisation working with young teenage mothers.
The next step on our journey is a presentation to the Arts Council of Wales Creative Steps Panel who are interested in supporting our proposal. By the end of this week we hope to know whether we have been awarded the funding needed to take the pilot project forward.
